1. Overview
Zoom Agent Status Tracker is a Chrome Extension that monitors agent status changes on Zoom contact center dashboards and sends optional notifications via browser overlay, Chrome notifications, and/or Slack webhooks.
We are committed to your privacy. This policy explains exactly what data the extension accesses, what it stores, and what is never collected or transmitted.
๐ Core principle: All data processed by this extension stays on your device. We do not operate any servers, collect analytics, or store any personal information remotely.
2. Data We Collect
The extension only collects the minimum data necessary to function:
| Data | Purpose | Storage | Sent Externally? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Agent names (as shown in Zoom dashboard) | Track status changes | Local only | Only if Slack is enabled by you |
| Agent status values (Ready, Not Ready, Offline, Away) | Detect and log changes | Local only | Only if Slack is enabled by you |
| Timestamps of status changes | Activity log & CSV export | Local only | Only if Slack is enabled by you |
| Extension settings (notification type, sound, durations) | Remember your preferences | Local only | Never |
| Slack webhook URL (if you configure it) | Send Slack notifications | Local only | Only to Slack's servers when status changes |
3. Data We Do NOT Collect
We want to be completely transparent. The following data is never collected:
- Passwords, login credentials, or authentication tokens
- Personal contact information (email addresses, phone numbers)
- Browsing history or activity outside of zoom.us
- Microphone, camera, or any media device access
- Geolocation data
- Financial or payment information
- Usage analytics or telemetry of any kind
- Device identifiers or fingerprints
- Any data from other websites or tabs
4. How Data Is Stored
All data is stored exclusively using Chrome's built-in local storage API
(chrome.storage.local). This means:
- Data is stored locally on your device inside Chrome's sandboxed storage
- Data never leaves your device unless you enable Slack integration
- Data is cleared when you uninstall the extension
- You can clear all data at any time using the "Clear Logs" button in the popup
- No remote databases, cloud storage, or servers are used by this extension
โ ๏ธ Note on Slack Webhook URL: If you enter a Slack webhook URL in the settings, it is stored locally on your device only. It is only used to send status change notifications directly from your browser to Slack's servers โ it is never transmitted to us.
5. Data Sharing & Third Parties
We do not sell, rent, or share any data with third parties. The only external data transmission that can occur is:
Slack (Optional)
If you choose to enable Slack integration and provide a Slack Incoming Webhook URL, the extension will send agent name, status change information, and timestamp directly from your browser to Slack's servers. This communication is governed by Slack's Privacy Policy.
- Slack integration is entirely optional and disabled by default
- You can disable it at any time in the extension settings
- No data is sent to Slack unless you explicitly enable it and configure a webhook URL
Zoom
The extension reads content displayed in your Zoom dashboard tab. It does not interact with Zoom's APIs, does not authenticate with Zoom, and does not send any data to Zoom.
6. Permissions Explained
The extension requests the following Chrome permissions:
| Permission | Why It's Needed |
|---|---|
| storage | Save your settings (notification type, sound, Slack webhook URL) and activity logs locally on your device |
| notifications | Display Chrome browser notifications when an agent's status changes (only if you select "Chrome Notification" type) |
| activeTab | Read content from the active Zoom dashboard tab to detect agent status changes |
| host: *.zoom.us | Run the content script specifically on Zoom dashboard pages to monitor agent statuses |
| host: hooks.slack.com | Allow direct browser-to-Slack communication when you enable Slack integration โ only used if you configure a webhook URL |
7. Slack Integration
The Slack integration feature allows you to receive agent status change alerts directly in a Slack channel of your choice. Here is exactly how it works:
- You provide an Incoming Webhook URL from your own Slack workspace
- The webhook URL is stored locally on your device using
chrome.storage.local - When a status change is detected, your browser sends a POST request directly to Slack
- The message contains: agent name, previous status, new status, and timestamp
- The extension developer never sees or receives any of this data
- You can delete your webhook URL at any time using "Clear Settings" in the Slack Integration page
8. Your Rights & Control
You have full control over all data at all times:
- View your data: All stored data is visible in the extension popup and settings pages
- Export your data: Use the "Download CSV" button to export your activity log at any time
- Delete activity logs: Use the "Clear Logs" button in the popup to delete all tracked status changes
- Delete all settings: Use "Clear Settings" in the Slack Integration page to remove all saved preferences
- Delete everything: Uninstalling the extension removes all data from your device permanently
9. Children's Privacy
This extension is intended for use in professional workplace environments and is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. This tool is designed for business use by contact center supervisors and managers.
10. Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and release a new version of the extension through the Chrome Web Store. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
We will never introduce data collection practices that conflict with the core principles stated in this policy without explicit user consent.
